Gang Aft Agley
So the plan was to go to my sister’s graduation (in Baton Rouge), then come back and over last week, get everything ready for TNNA: mounting new designs, doing small production runs for Sample It night, wrapping up teaching plans, painting a few more canvases over Memorial Day weekend. But as they say about the best laid plans of Mice and Kats… they gang aft agley or they go oft awry. Mine were derailed by a family medical emergecy that had me rushing back to Houston the day after graduation in order to catch a flight to Denver to see FIL in the hospital. The good news is that he is doing much better now.
Of course, I did manage to get some stitching done while sitting in the hospital, so a design that I thought I would be stitching on while at TNNA will now be released at the show. I also learned how to do punch needle, so we may see some experimentation on that front in the future.
Anyway, here’s a recap of the past week:
Post hospital – pre airport pickup visit to Pike’s Peak:

The stitching visits Mt. Evans – Mt. Evans is only 40 minutes from Denver and has the highest paved road in the country up it. We couldn’t go all the way to the top, but snowy Summit Lake was at a pretty high altitude.

We saw a marmot on the way up Mt. Evans:

I flew back early (very early) Monday morning and have been working on TNNA stuff at a frantic pace since then. Cross your fingers that it all gets done!
