Columbus Deconstructed
It is always an amazing thing for me to find a Cross Eyed Kat design “in the wild”. Here is Emily who took my class on Thursday night and had the project stitched and finished by Saturday! And was wearing it on the show floor – doesn’t it look terrific!
Here are previews of the other new releases that were at the show:
“Balloonist’s Prayer” and “With Cat for Comforter”

“Balloonist’s Prayer” is a bright hot-air balloon that has the traditional balloonist’s prayer stitched around it. “With Cat for Comforter” is a sweet design of a sleeping cat on a motif-design quilt. This design is stitched with Dinky-Dyes silk for extra fun. Mocha the cat was the model for the cat in this design!
“Stitch Invaders”

This fun design was inspired by the old computer game of space invaders, but in this version the aliens have been replaced with stitching motifs. Glow in the dark DMC is used for some extra fun!
“Memories” and “Post Modern Cats” in Needlepoint

“Memories” is a picture frame design that combines scrapbooking with cross stitch! The photo clips are included in the chartpack. The pillow is a stitched version of my first foray into hand painted canvas. It was well received and there will be more to come in the future!
“Green Star”

“Blue Moon”

These two designs are two necklace deisgns. The chartpacks include the backing fabric, beads and ribbon as well as finishing instructions!
Here I am modeling the model for “Blue Moon”

All good things must come to an end, and while the show was fun while it lasted, in the end, it all had to be deconstructed and repacked up.

Until next year, when we hope to see even more vendors and shop owners back in Columbus in support of the needlearts. Until then, everyone keep on stitching!
