Happy Halloween Eve!

Wow, how did it get to be Tuesday? Do these weird space-time things happen to everyone? That happened to Saturday as well, except that I remember running 3K in the neighborhood. I remember that because I’m still slightly sore from it. I was going to register for the 5K at the [...]

Down with OCC

My latest “celebrity” sighting:

That’s a gen-u-ine Orange County Chopper there, so I’m down with OCC!
Someone came to the blog by searching on “how to knit false seam knitting round” - which means they came by way of these pictures:

I also had a hard time finding information on false (or mock) seams - I finally resorted [...]

Going to the Doctor and Fighting with Computers

I suffer from periodic migraines. These vary from mildly annoying, but long lasting headaches, to lie in the bed and don’t move because it all hurts, to puke my guts out, then it all feels better headaches. Suffice it to say, I try my best to take care of any of headaches before [...]

Keep those responses coming!

It is wonderful hearing what CEK designs people like and why. I’m running an unscientific poll based on all the responses. Right now Labyrinth is slightly ahead of Dragons Welcome, but over half of CEK designs (including those not on the Needlework Show site have at least one vote.
About two years ago, I [...]

Questions answered and Mocha cries

First, a picture of Nina’s sampler before it was all framed up:

So, here are some answers to questions that people might ask:
(1) Why does the birth sampler have a date of 2005 when it is released in 2007?
Good question. The answer to that lies in the fact that Kolya’s Sampler was designed for my [...]

Tuesday I’m in Love

Ok, so this love actually began on Sunday, but today is Tuesday, so today I continue to be in love.
Sunday I got a small case of startititis and decided to wind a skein of the Berroco Peruvian “Dragon” yarn I had ordered for my Tilted Duster. I don’t have a ball winder [...]

Crazy Aunt Purl, knitting and limes!

Another busy weekend here in H-town! Less housework this time, though.
First my dad was in town for a business meeting, which meant we were able to get together Friday night. We stuffed ourselves at our fabulous local Lupe Tortilla’s and had a grand time. Dad had to leave early [...]
