Trying to Think Christmas in February
We just got all the Christmas “stuff” put away, so why am I trying to think Christmas?
Well, I’m behind on my Christmas Ornament designs, so I’m trying to work on that in my head while my fingers are stitching for spring!
Items accomplished from my to-do list for Nashville: One. I finished stitching on the [...]

1. Frame and Photograph “Dragon Tattoo”

New Toy
So, after saving my pennies forever, I was finally able to splurge on a new Digital SLR camera. It isn’t really a splurge, because it will get lots of use taking pictures of stitching model, and we already have a bunch of lenses from a short stint of portrait/event photography a few years ago.
Here’s [...]

Confetti Defended
I like to stitch pictures; that’s just my personal preference. This makes me less likely to stitch band samplers, although I have done that and enjoyed them. I also like my stitced pictures to be somewhat realistic; that makes me less likely to stitch primitive style designs. It also makes me appreciate [...]

A busy life = less stitching time
A brief look at July and August:
The Tour de France was most of July and finished with TdF cupcakes:
We had a bunch of company in late July to mid August, which meant I did far less stitching that I usually like. However, I did get to see “The Phantom of the Opera” (again).
I went [...]

“A Chandelier in Pieces”
In exciting news, I’m going to see “The Phantom of the Opera” tonight! So of course, I’m listening to the soundtrack all day and have the volume turned way up to get the full effect. I’ve seen Phantom twice before: once on Valentine’s Day (don’t I have a romantic husband?), and once when [...]

Christmas Ornaments and other things
Y’all are great for help in the inspiration department! I can already feel my mojo starting to come back. In fact, I did some rough sketches of….dragons. Hmmm, I’ll have to work on the Christmas Ornaments. I am getting my stitching done, though:
Note: that design won’t be out until October – [...]

Looking for design inspiration
As I approach finishing the 12th Advent Ornament, it is time to start my brain on thinking of what the next twelve ornaments should be. Most of the time, I just let ideas rumble in my brain until they decide to come out, but I’d like to get a jump on keeping this series [...]

Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty
It isn’t actually putty, and I didn’t find it in my armpit one midsummer morning, but it is a lump of green resin:
It turns out that when you try to mix resins in a high temperature it sets more rapidly. I was going along my merry way, pouring the resin into a set of [...]
