News from Nashville!
It has been two weeks since Market, and I think I’m almost recovered! First, I forgot to post one of the new designs: I’ll be using this chart to teach a class on different ways of using overdyed threads March 20th at 3 Stitches in Spring, TX. Here’s a view of the hotel atrium with [...]

Status Update: Getting There
So, I’ve officially finished all the stitching that needs to get done before Nashville Market. Tonight I hope to get all of my photography done and if I’m really good, all of the chart layouts ready. That probably won’t quite happen, since I need to write up some finishing instructions. When I get the chart [...]

Ornament opinions needed
I’m trying to sketch out the last seven ornaments in the Advent Ornament series and I’m beginning to doubt myself. Are Gingerbread Men Christmassy? Is a single star too boring? Sometimes it is hard to work in a square “canvas” space. Also, I’m trying to have a good mix between relatively simple and Kat-crazy-complicated designs.

Long time, no post, but the good news is that I have been busy. We’re quickly moving from Spring into Summer here in Texas, and my roses are in full bloom: Also, my new funky hibiscus plants started to bloom: And I went to another crawfish boil: May means the Giro d’Italia at our house, [...]

Think dry thoughts
First, I want to thank everyone who is taking time to enter my Needlework Show drawing by posting in the comments (or by email). This weekend, the Husband will be riding in the BP MS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin. We’ve both done this ride before, and this year he is going to be [...]

I got some stitching done
I was sick on Wednesday, I’m blaming the new decongestant. By mid-afternoon, I was able to sit up mostly and I got some stitching done: Excuse the crappy webcam picture. I had thought to use pebble beads for “ornaments” on the tree, but they are way too big. I briefly debated doing swarovski crystals, but [...]

Live (sort of) from Nashville
5:40: signing off for today. Time for closing will be soon. Then chatting and comparing notes with other vendors! 3:40: Now entering the long-dark-teatime of the tradeshow. 2:54 This was in my blog reader this morning and I really like it. It sums up my approach to this year. This year, I am designing what [...]
